We started the day with a good attitude and team spirit. Our game was at 10.00am. The first game for the tournament was against Kawerau. We started with a bang by getting a turn over in the first few minutes. Our opponents came back strongly and were very fierce and were very physical in their playing. In the second quarter we were going neck and neck.We shot many great goals but unfortunately Kawerau gained and got a good lead with the ending score being 26-12.
Unfortunately our second game (against Kaitaia) started with a lot of rain. It quickly blew and became very windy, and became difficult for the shooters to play at their best. They were a very tall team and great on defence. Our aim was to reduce our unforced errors compared to the first game and we were proud to say we achieved this goal. Another positive were the turn overs we created, next goal is to score off them! The final score was to 27-9 to them.
The netball games were not the only games we played. Pegging was popular, due to fact that you could peg anyone in the team ( including Miss Moffitt A.K.A Hayley). Pegging was when we had a whole lot of washing pegs and we would put them on the team. If you were the one wearing it you would be laughed at and then you would seek your revenge!
Each day we have a "Dork of the Day" which started with Milly today. As she walked up the stairs with her dinner last night, she fell face first on the stairs with all her dinner going everywhere! All day the " Dork of the day" wears a fancy Tiara and fairy wand.
